Story behind the Hymn...

I found this on a website while searching the net. The site actually has a lot of hymns with the story telling you how the hymn came about.I found this very interesting so I've decided to post some of them on my blog now and again, starting with this one.
***
While I was attending the World’s Fair in Chicago [Illinois], Henry Varley, a lay preacher from London, said to Major Whittle: “I do not like the hymn ‘I need Thee every hour’ very well, because I need Him every moment of the day.
Soon after Major Whittle wrote this sweet hymn… [He] brought the hymn to me in manuscript a little later, saying that he would give me the copyright of both the words and music if I would print for him five hundred copies on fine paper, for distributing among his friends. His daughter May Whittle, who later became the wife of Will R. Moody, composed the music. I did as Mr. Whittle wished; and I sent the hymn to England, where it was copyrighted on the same day as at Washington.
In England the hymn became very popular. Falling into the hands of the well-known Rev. Andrew Murray, of South Africa, then visiting London, he adopted it as his favorite hymn. A year later Mr. Murray visited Northfield [Massachusetts], and while holding a meeting for men in the church he remarked, “If Sankey only knew a hymn which I found in London, and would sing it, he would find that it embraces my entire creed.” I was very anxious to know what hymn it was, and when he had recited it I said to him: “Doctor, that hymn was written within five hundred yards of where we are standing.”
For years Dr. Murray had his wife sing this hymn in nearly all his meetings. It also became a great favorite in South Africa during the war.

Dying with Jesus, by death reckoned mine;
Living with Jesus, a new life divine;
Looking to Jesus till glory doth shine,
Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.

(Chorus)
Moment by moment I’m kept in His love;

Moment by moment I’ve life from above;
Looking to Jesus till glory doth shine;
Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.

Never a trial that He is not there,
Never a burden that He doth not bear,
Never a sorrow that He doth not share,
Moment by moment, I’m under His care.

Never a heartache, and never a groan,

Never a teardrop and never a moan;
Never a danger but there on the throne,
Moment by moment He thinks of His own.

Never a weakness that He doth not feel,
Never a sickness that He cannot heal;
Moment by moment, in woe or in weal,
Jesus my Savior, abides with me still.

It's been a while....

I can't believe 3 weeks have gone by since my last post. Well i am glad to be able to update again. It's great to see the comments left on my last post; I want to thank each and every one of you for your encouraging words and of course your prayers. I hope you are all keeping OK.

The Lord got me through the surgery and apart from a few minor complications i am recovering. I have an infected hematoma under my wound which i am told is a blood clot that must have formed after some bleeding during surgery. The Doctors say my body should re-absorb it once the infection clears so they have adopted a wait and see approach. I am taking a strong antibiotic so Lord willing it will do it's job. I go back to the hospital this Wednesday to check on it.

I have to say i have enjoyed the rest whilst i have been recuperating; my mom and husband and the kids have been a great help. It is a bit frustrating not to able to do any heavy housework but hopefully it wont be too much longer before i can get back to normality. My poor little girl has had a lot of extra chores to do around the house but i know it's good for her. She makes me laugh sometimes with the remarks she comes out with; she always says when she gets married that she hopes her husband isn't messy.Sometimes she sounds like a grown woman. My wee Jade.The Lord has really blessed my husband and I with our kids. You can see a biGG difference in a child that is being brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord and a child who is left to himself. The Bible once again proven true.

Blogging break...

We have had a good week this week with the outreach in the Calgach centre in town. It has been refreshing to be able to attend the nightly services and it's a blessing that my mom was able to come along too. We've heard some good old fashioned Bible preaching.

I'm afraid i will not be posting for a while as i will be going into hospital on Wednesday to have surgery. I'm told it's a major op so i would really appreciate your prayers at this time.
I will have a 3/4 day hospital stay and then a recovery period of 4 - 6 weeks.
Please pray that the Lord will get me through it safely with no complications.
It's not a nice experience to go through but when you have the Lord on your side and brethren praying for you it makes it easier. So i thank you in advance for your prayers.

Blogger will still not let me post any pictures for some reason. I don't know if it's the computer or blogger to blame but hopefully I'll get it sorted out soon. I better go for now, it's getting late;
Hope you all have a great week.

God is good...

Psalm 100:5 For the LORD [is] good; his mercy [is] everlasting; and his truth [endureth] to all generations.
***
I want to thank you all for your prayers this past week. The Lord has answered yet again.
My mum came through surgery safely on Monday and she is recovering in the hospital. She is hoping to get home on Monday but we'll have to wait and see because her sugar levels are still up and down. She will see the diabetic doctor on Monday to see if he can do something with her medication to get her sugars to stay down. I'm just grateful to God that he took care of her through it.

We had to take Marky to the hospital last night again after he caught his fingers in the chain of his bike. He cut them pretty bad and had to have some stitches. They are not sure if he has a fracture or not because they said a line showed up on the x-ray and there not sure if it is a blood vessel or fracture...weird. The consultant radiologist will review his x-ray in a couple of days and they will call us if he can confirm a broken bone. But anyway they are treating him as if it is fractured and the poor wee man has his 2 fingers strapped and he has to wear a splint also. I have to take him to the nurse to check the wound for infection on Monday morning but he is on a strong antibiotic just in case. So we have had quite a time with hospital visits but still I'm thankful that it was nothing life threatening.

I have been trying to post some pictures but blogger will not co-operate with me at all so i'll have to try again some other time. You'll know if nothing gets posted that i'm still having problems with it. At least i can still update.

I'm back...

I have to apologise for not updating this past few weeks and I'll give an update to some of what has been happening around here; i haven't got time to post everything that has went on......

Answered prayer: On my last post i asked you to pray for me as i went to have the mri scan....Well i had it done and the results came back normal so that was a blessing and another prayer answered. Thank you for praying for that.

A&E visit: We managed to visit accident and emergency with our youngest son Jeremiah when he closed the door on his finger.Thankfully he didn't break it but he did have to have a hole put in his nail to release the bleeding that was under his nail as a result of the injury.

Fun day's out: We have had a couple of nice family day's when we got to take the kids to a fun farm and also to Grianan Fort in Donegal which we enjoyed; i took some pictures so i will post them in the near future.

And finally: Our computer broke down last week just when i was about to update my blog so i was a little annoyed about that but we're back online again. I may not get to post very often over the next few weeks as my mother will be going into hospital on Tuesday and having surgery the following Monday. She was supposed to have it done this Monday but they said her blood sugars are too high to operate so they will keep her in hospital this week in an attempt to get them lowered. I would appreciate your prayers for her; her name is Esther. It will be a major surgery for her with all her health problems. I will be looking after her when she gets out for a week and then my sister will help out after that so i will be busyyyyy. Maybe the Lord needs for me to learn some patience. I would also ask you to pray for my husbands mom as we got a call this moring to say she was taken to hospital with breathing problems. She has a chronic disease caused by smoking and her condition has gotten worse this past few months. She needs to be saved so please pray for her and her husband. Their names are Mary and William.

I have to go for now but Lord willing i will be able to post some picture's at a later date.
God Bless.
